Do I need to provide food?Dog boarding We ask that dogs are kept on the same diet to avoid any upset tummies on their holiday so please bring enough food for your dogs stay. However, we do provide treats (with permission!) and treat toys such as a peanut butter filled Kong. Cat boarding A selection of food is included for all guests in our Cat Hotel, with a choice of jelly or gravy pouches, dry food, and treats.

What else shall I bring for my pets holiday?Dog boarding We provide everything apart from food, so you can relax knowing that you don't need to pack a suitcase full for your dogs holiday! However if your dog has a favourite bed, blanket, toy or even a smelly sock, feel free to bring this along if you think it will make their stay more comfortable. It's also a good idea to pack a coat for the colder months. Cat boarding Everything is provided to make your cats stay as comfortable as possible, however we recommend bringing along your cats scratching post (disposable scratchers can be provided) and if you would like to bring along a favourite bed, blanket or toys - please feel free to do so.

Winter closure noticeWinter closure dates: November 4th 2025 - February 13th 2026 After much deliberation, due to a change in personal circumstances for the year ahead, along with the challenges that winter throws at our location with regards to weather and access issues, we have made the very difficult decision to close during some of the winter months of this year, from November 4th 2025 - February 13th, 2026. Rest assured, although we will be closed for boarding, our team will still be available for home visits, dog walks and cats-at-home services during this time. Please enquire for more details. These changes, as a business, will also allow us to provide the absolute best, out-and-out care to your pets during the rest of the year. As the previous owners of Banks Ghyll Kennels also closed in the winter time, we hope that our customers do not find the decision to do so this year too disruptive. We genuinely believe that this time will enable us to offer the high-quality service and care your pets deserve. If you have any concerns or queries please feel free to contact us and we promise to do our utmost to help in any way possible. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Steph & Martin
